The mystery concludes?
Oreki’s character appears to be slowly deviating from being lethargic to being more proactive. At the beginning of Hyouka, he stressed the importance of conserving energy, the want to not do anything unnecessary. But, after being initially influenced by Chitanda, he’s slowly becoming more and more involved in school life. In this episode, he was influenced by Fuyumi Irusu to evolve from his “just-luck” outlook, to one more prideful.
Satoshi’s characterized as a jack of all trades. He’s not especially great in one genre, but he can often create the illusion of being so by knowing the trivial aspects of it. He’s willing to admit this flaw of his, but he doesn’t seem to acquiesce in it [as insinuated by his envy].
The mystery this episode also appeared to have concluded. I really didn’t expect the camera guy, but I suppose the film ingenuously structured it that way. However, at the end, Mayaka announces her doubts about the ending. If she is right, then Oreki would have made a mistake.
On-going Thoughts: Concluding Thoughts
Needs more development. Ugh.
